Yangzom Trading Company, also known as Yangzom Enterprise, is a well-established Bhutanese business based in Babesa, Thimphu. Since its establishment in 2012, the company has grown into one of the country’s prominent players in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector. With over a decade of experience, the company has built a strong reputation for reliability, efficiency, and market reach.

Operating as an importer, agent, wholesaler, and distributor, Yangzom Trading Company plays a vital role in supplying a wide range of consumer products across Bhutan. The company currently employs 58 staff and manages an impressive annual turnover of approximately USD 30 million, supported by a credit line of USD 25 million through Bhutan National Bank. Its operations are backed by a robust logistics and distribution system that ensures smooth supply chain management throughout the country.

A key strength of the company lies in its exclusive distributorship of Samyang Foods from South Korea, a partnership that has been successfully maintained for over 13 years. In addition, the company imports and distributes well-known products from Malaysia, Thailand, and Singapore, further diversifying its portfolio and strengthening its market position. Through these partnerships, Yangzom Trading Company has been able to meet the evolving demands of Bhutanese consumers with quality and internationally recognized brands.

The company’s distribution network is one of its most significant assets. With well-established logistics infrastructure, including warehouses, delivery vehicles, and a dedicated sales force, Yangzom Trading Company serves between 7,000 and 9,000 customers nationwide. Its clientele includes major supermarket chains, grocery stores, mini markets, as well as institutional buyers such as hotels, restaurants, bakeries, and caterers. This extensive network allows the company to cover a large portion of the Bhutanese market effectively.

Leadership at Yangzom Trading Company is driven by a team of experienced professionals. The company is headed by CEO Chencho Dorji, supported by Vice President Chencho Dema, General Manager of Operations Tshering Yangzom, General Manager of Marketing Nawa Yeshi, and Senior Manager for Logistics and Delivery Ran Bahadur. Their combined expertise has been instrumental in steering the company’s steady growth and operational success.

Looking ahead, Yangzom Trading Company is focused on expanding its market reach and strengthening its distribution capabilities. The company is actively exploring partnerships with semi-government organizations, including post offices, Government-to-Citizen (G2C) service centers, agricultural outlets, and retail shops across Bhutan. These initiatives aim to enhance accessibility and ensure that products reach even the most remote areas of the country.

In addition to its FMCG operations, the company is also involved in export activities through the Bhutan Mineral & Mining Export Firm. This venture focuses on exporting value-added products such as dolomite powder and construction materials, including aggregate chips, primarily to Bangladesh and India. This diversification reflects the company’s strategic approach to growth and its commitment to exploring new business opportunities.

In conclusion, Yangzom Trading Company stands as a key contributor to Bhutan’s FMCG sector, combining strong international partnerships, efficient distribution systems, and a clear vision for future expansion. Its continued focus on quality, accessibility, and market development positions it as a reliable and influential business entity in Bhutan’s evolving economic landscape.
